About Secret Gardens..

“roughness vs softness, asymmetry vs symmetry, positive vs negative, calm vs chaos” Perhaps a mix of all these elements were my first impression when looking at Quebec Artist Amélie Desjardins art currently displayed at the Thompson Landry Gallery. From jellyfishes, cherry trees, ostriches, trees… It is impossible not to see how connected she is with nature, her love for nature and life, and how concern she is with our planet when choosing recycled wood as one of her media. I love when artist are able to narrate through painting her experiences and passions in this life.
